Expo Opening Ceremony


The grand opening of the World Expo 2010 was celebrated in the evening of April 30, 2010 in Shanghai of China. Following the ceremony, there were great varieties of magnificent shows with dancers and singers from different parts of the world. The ceremony and the shows were held at the Expo Culture Center within the Expo site. Following the art performances, there were firework and lighting shows over the Huangpu River. Guests moved to the panoramic viewing platform of the Culture Center to watch the firework and fountain lighting shows.

Andrea Bocelli, a famous singer from Italy, was holding the hand of a little girl while singing a beautiful song.






Tanimura shinji, a famous Japanese singer, sang a medolious song "Star".






This was part of the firework and lighting shows over the Huangpu River in Shanghai. One of the chapters was equipped with the famous Chinese music "Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto".






Residents nearby could spot the fireworks out of their windows.
